Payment Questions

When is payment due?

Payment is due at the completion of service. You will be provided an estimate prior to the work being started. After the work has been completed, you will be provided with an invoice with the final cost of the work that has been performed.

Any work that is over $600 will require a 50 percent down payment before work begins. Items that have to be special ordered or are non-returnable will have to be paid for in full before work begins.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept CashApp, PayPal, major credit cards, cash, and checks.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes, we provide free estimates via phone or text. We may ask that pictures be sent of the work to be performed so that we can properly prepare for the work.

General Questions

What is the fastest way to request service?

What are your working hours?

Services are primarily performed on weekends, and some holidays as this is when most of our customers are at home. All services are done by appointment only.

What areas do you serve?

We primarily serve the cities of Elmore, Millbrook, Montgomery, Pike Road, Prattville, and Wetumpka. Also includes the counties of Autauga, Elmore, and Montgomery. See the Service Areas page for a full list of cities and zip codes.

Mileage fees may apply to jobs outside of the mentioned cities and counties in Alabama.

Do you repair or install roofs?

We do not offer any roofing services. In addition, we will not perform any service that requires climbing onto a roof to complete said service.

Do you offer painting services?

We do offer touch up painting, such as painting blemishes or painting over nail heads. As for painting entire rooms or house exteriors, we do not offer this service.

Do you provide parts and materials?

We do provide them. For some items that are available in multiple styles, including but not limited to ceiling fans, curtains, and wall art, we ask that the customer pick out the item that s/he wants.

I purchased the item that I want, but could not get it in my vehicle. Could you pick it up for me?

Yes we will pick up your item for an additional fee. Fee varies depending on the distance from the pickup location to the service location. We ask that you provide copies of the receipts, order number, or other paperwork before the service date to reduce delays in picking up your item(s).

I have a pet in the home. Can you work with pets around?

Yes we can work with pets in the home. However, we ask that pets be kept away from the work area. Sometimes the work requires that small parts or heavy pieces to be used. We know that vet bills can be expensive, thus we do not want your pet to accidently consume the small parts nor risk getting injured by heavy pieces.

How soon can you come out to do the work?

Ideally, we ask for at least 2 business days between when the Service Request is submitted and when the work is done. Requests that are submitted and asked to be done in less time, will be charged an Expedited Request Fee of 25% of the cost of the job and materials, in addition to cost of the job and materials to complete the job.

This fee will be waived for work that could or would result in a safety and health risk. Examples of safety and health risk type of work includes, but is not limited to, exterior door repair or replacement after a break in; replacing malfunctioning smoke detectors, wall outlets, or switches that are missing covers; and replacing thermostats when frost or below freezing temperatures are forecasted.

Do you offer moving services?

We will move items such as tables, chairs, televisions, and similiar items. We do not offer services for rooms of furniture or whole house moves.

Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

We are listed as an LLC (Limited Liability Company) in the state of Alabama and registered as an LLC with the Secretary of State of Alabama. The type of work we do (jobs under $50,000) does not require us to have a general contractor’s license in Alabama nor to be bonded. A Home Builders License is not required for residential jobs under $10,000. Most of the work that we do has a low potential for liability. In the state of Alabama, there is no licensing requirement for Handyman or Technology service providers.

Do I have to be present when the work is being done?

For work that does not require us to enter the home, nobody has to be present as long as the work area can be accessed while nobody is a home (e.g. fenced in yard with gate unlocked and pets put away).

For work that does require us to enter the home and the home is occupied (i.e. not vacant), an adult at least 19 years or older must be present at all times. We will not do work unless an adult that is 19 years or older is present for liability and safety reasons. When the home is unoccupied (i.e. vacant, no active residents living in it), then an adult does not need to be present.

What do you do with items (e.g. ceiling fans, doors, etc) that you replace?

For items that are usable and in good working order, then we will donate them to the local Habitat for Humanity Restore for it to serve a second life and to benefit the community.

For items that are not usable and no longer work, we will place them curbside outside of your residence to be picked up by your local municipality, recycle them at a local recycling facility, or dispose of them in accordance to local regulations. Disposal fees may apply for items that require special disposal methods.

Do you guarantee your work?

We are proud of the work that we do. If an issue or defect occurs with the work that we do with in 30 days of service, simply contact us about the work and the defect that has occurred. We will come out and repair the item to get it back in proper order. Defects that exist with the product(s) itself should be followed up with the manufacturer of the product. NOTE: This guarantee does not apply to items that have been used in a manner that is not considered acceptable by the manufacturer or to items that have intentionally been damaged or abused.

How long have you been in business?

The business was started in January 2021. However, we have been doing home repairs, working with technology, putting furniture together for many years. Some of the work that was done before starting the business is showcased on our YouTube channel.

THE FINE PRINT: 1) Any discount that you wish to receive must be mentioned before making a payment. Once payment for services has been made, the discount cannot be applied retroactively or on a future service. Discounts are only valid for customers in Autauga, Elmore, and Montgomery Counties in Alabama. Discounts cannot combined with any other discounts, offers, or promotions. 2) Discount is only valid for first review provided by the customer on any of the listed platforms. Customers that provide reviews on multiple platforms will only receive the discount one time. In order to receive discount, future service booking must be made through the Robinson Handy and Technology Services website, via phone (call or text), or by email. Discount expires 3 months from the date the review has been made. 3) Discount not valid for customers that Schedule Service through a third party vendor or service.
