Bookcase Assembly
My bookcase is wobbly. What can I do to make it more sturdy?
You can secure a piece of plywood to the back of the bookcase. Depending on the size of the bookcase, you can use either 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch plywood. As an alternative, you can use MDF boards in place of plywood.
My kids climb on my bookcase. How can I make sure that they do not get hurt?
We suggest that you advise your kids of the dangers of climbing on furniture and how that it can result in them being seriously hurt.
Second, we suggest that you secure the bookcase to the wall that it is near. Brand new bookcases typically come with hardware that you can use to secure it to the wall. For used furniture, you can get furniture straps from your local home improvement store to secure the bookcase to the wall.
When securing the bookcase to the wall, we recommend that the bookcase be secured to a stud in the wall.
